Sports Premium

The PE and Sport Premium is a government funding stream designed to help primary schools improve the quality of PE and sport activities they offer.

Schools receive PE and Sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6, or in cases where schools don’t follow year groups (for example, in some special schools), the number of pupils aged 5 to 10.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

This means using the premium to develop or add to the PE and sport activities that we already offers, or make improvements that will benefit future pupils. For example, we could use our funding to hire qualified sports coaches to work alongside teachers, or to support less active children by running or extending school clubs.
